What is Halyard Wrap?
The Real Problem
Simply summarized…halyard wrap is the result of a flawed designed concept
Using a rotational device (aka “swivel”) turn rope around a metallic base is bound to end in failure.
You will find many articles from the so called “experts” with workarounds for the problem but let’s address the real issue
Prevention
The best way to prevent halyard wrap is to not use a system that has a swivel.
The Solution – Integrated Halyards
Your 3DFurler comes with an external halyard, which turns with the systems as one rotational part. The Top and Drum Assemblies are tensioned and the system rotates as one part.
With external Halyards running parallel to the luff, you always have visual confirmation of line integrity. Sail Changes are easy and you will never have halyard wrap again.
